Good Morning all,
Just wanted to give you a little bit of advice for the New Year!
We all think about this time of year as our chance to make New Year’s Resolutions. So, what is a Resolution? It’s really a change to what we are doing now. It’s a commitment to change and do something that we have not been doing.
The one thing that I can honestly tell you is that 95% of all Resolutions are not kept. Yes, we keep them for awhile, but then something gets in the way. So….I have thought about his and have decided that probably it’s not the right approach to set up a New Year’s Resolution. I feel that you need to set up a CONSISTANCY PACT. You need to pick one thing that you want to change in your life forever and do it. How do I do that some of you may ask….well……I know for me the only thing that has worked is that I have to be 100% committed to this change. It must be something that I am passionate about…it must be something that really really calls out my name and says……..CHANGE ME!
Change is not easy……as a matter of fact….it’s downright hard….especially if you life does not depend on it ….or your families life does not depend on it.
Think about this for a second. Do you think that you could lose 30 pounds in one month if one of your family members were being held hostage and the only way that you could get them back would be to lose 30 pounds? The answer for all of us would be YES! Now…why would that be so easy to accomplish? Because you would be more passionate about losing the 30 pounds because there would be a very distinct, important, reason that you would be doing everything to lose the 30 pounds…..It would be my guess that nothing….Absolutely NOTHING would get in your way of accomplishing that goal.
Let’s use a different example….what if your doctor said you would not live another 6 months if you did not lose 30 pounds. Could you do it……YES…of course…as your mindset would automatically kick into self preservation….your life would be consumed with the intent to lose 30 pounds to save your life.
Why is it that it sometimes takes traumatic experiences in our lives to cause us to change? I know many folks that have the determination to do anything they want just by saying what they want and they make it happen. I feel blessed to have that ability to do what I want and accomplish what I visualize. The great thing is that everyone has it….some just don’t know how to tap into it. I pretty much gave you the answer…..You must be passionate about whatever it is that you want to accomplish! Make it a do or die kind of Action!
Just DO IT! Make the Change necessary to accomplish it! Believe me…You will be happy you did!
Happy New Year to each of you! We hope that your New Year is just that! A NEW YEAR! Accomplish your goals! TAKE ACTION!
Let me know how you are doing!
Blessings to you!
Steph
